Important results from the project

Arevo has successfully completed the Next Generation Fertilizer project which aimed to develop world class production know-how and to add new dimensions of product performance through innovation. Technical verification of production systems were necessary in order to attract a new investment in production capacity. Innovative product development has led to new formulations designed to address opportunities in new markets.

Expected long term effects

As a direct result of this project we have established protocols and standard operating procedures for producing arGrow Granular: a novel plant nutrition technology based on arginine phosphate with the novel property of being safe for direct-to-roots application. A new branch of IP was developed as a direct consequence of the project. Patents have been filed to protect this new IP. The project led to an investment decision that supported the plant build with capacity to meet forecasted demand for arGrow Granular in the global forestry market.

Approach and implementation

Work focused on developing production competencies involved developing external relationships with specialists engineers and suppliers of granulation equipment. This work addressed engineering unknowns to meet technical specifications and field testing to meet product performance goals. The innovative steps were conducted in collaboration with academic researchers at UPSC, and benefited from access to Greenhouse and lab facilities.
