Purpose and goal

Further development of the technologies in the project ´Next Generation Composite Structures for Commercial Aircraft´ , has been carried out with excellent results. The results were demonstrated in September 2, 2015 in Laxå and at Compraser Labs in Linköping 16-17 March 2016. Many of the technologies developed in the project will be further developed within the projects Clean Sky 2 and SWE Demo or implemented in production and in new products. The new company X-Laser Systems has been formed and developed a new measuring instrument, based on the cross laser, and is now sold on the market.

Expected results and effects

Complementary technology development was performed for the composite cargodoor demonstrator , 2*3 m, by Saab in collaboration with Swerea Compraser Labs production system for the door demonstrator ÅF-Industry , LIU and X-Laser Systems , which has developed a simplified drilling end-effector for robot use Biteam and KTH which have designed, manufactured and tested a weaving machine for 3D weaving a nudel profil in composite and Elitkomposit which has designed and manufactured a inpregnate device FlexProp developed and manufactured an assembly jigg (9x5meter) in composites.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was an extension of project ´Next Generation Composite Structures for Commercial Aircraft´ with new partners from academia and SME ´s. The project has been implemented in six sub-projects very integrated with the work of the main project.
