Important results from the project
The project had the primary goals to increase the companies’ capabilities by increasing the change over efficiency and increasing the process knowledge in order to be faster in introducing new products and running the processes more efficiently and robustly. The fulfilment of the goals of the project, and thereby contribution to the goals for the program, is therefore considered to be high.
Expected long term effects
The fulfillment of the project goals is considered to be high. A more efficient changeover process was delivered. The possibility for more robust process with vibration monitoring has been shown and proven in an industrial context. Results also helps the companies to avoid inproductive investmensts in Roller dies and in ELC lubricant application technologies.
Approach and implementation
The project was divided into four work packages and in two phases. The division in two phases put some restrictions on the initial part of the project. Two universities and four companies have been working in close collaboration. This have resulted in both in depth fundamental understanding of phenomena and processes and in industrially applied solutions and validated results on the questions that were the goals set out for the project.
