Important results from the project
The project objective has been met. It has created the conditions required for setting up a developing project for a product with a new way of communicating weather forecast uncertainty to the general public. The project also has generated valuable experiences in methodology for future product development.
Expected long term effects
The project has produced a prototype that is able to communicate uncertainty in the weather forecast to the general public. The experiences gained during the project will enable us to make a realistic plan for a future developing project.
Approach and implementation
The method was inspired by lean UX and the prototype design has evolved according to user feedback in several iterations. Different methods of interacting with users have been explored. After each iteration, the design and interaction method were evaluated leading to stepwise improvement and a sucessful final result. The project team collectively have competence in interaction design, meteorology, IT and knowledge in our consumers needs, which was all very useful.
