Call Development projects in incubators 2022 to 2024 spring 2024

Purpose and goal

Swedish incubators have low activity in the EU framework program for research and innovation - Horizon Europe. The project wants to examine the innovation actors´ conditions for increased participation in the program period (FP 10, 2028-2034). The goal is to develop a proposal for programme for increased ability to participate in the framework program for incubators and science parks. The project is a collaboration between BizMaker, RISE and five other Swedish incubators and science parks.

Expected effects and result

The study is expected to result in a proposal for a programme for increased ability to participate in Horizon Europe. Participation in EU-project not only provides financial resources but also integration to a wider innovation system. Through increased internationalization, Swedish incubators and science parks can gain more power in form of growing funding for startups and scaleups as in own business. Effects via benchmarking, exchange of experience, influx of competence and visibility.

Planned approach and implementation

The study will map innovation environments that have been successful in the EU arena - nationally and Europeanly. This is done, among other things, by going through databases and websites, as well as through contact with identified key actors. Interviews and a digital workshop will be conducted with key people at the incubators linked to the feasibility study, Piteå SP, Uminova, Movexum, Dalarna SP & PEAK. The purpose is to map needs and conditions, as well as anchor future implementation.
