Important results from the project
The purpose of this planning grant was to give Seán Barry the possibility to visit LiU to meet researchers and look at synthesis and characterization equipment for thin film synthesis of thin films of the group 13 nitrides and to discuss and plan for a longer stay as guest professor. This has been fully meet. The goal was to finalize the research project for the guest professorship and an application to ViNNMER. This has been meet as the application is submitted.
Expected long term effects
The expected effects of the planning grant was for Seán Barry and the project leader from LiU, Henrik Pedersen to discuss the details of the planned research project for Seán Barry´s stay as guest professor and to complete an application for ViNNMER. This has only partly been fulfilled as the application is not yet finalized. The expected result is was a good understanding of the goal with the planned joint research and a completed application to ViNNMER. This has been fulfilled as the application is submitted.
Approach and implementation
The plan was for Seán Barry to visit LiU for a week, meet researchers and visit lab facilities, get to know the university and give at least one seminar on his research. Seán Barry and Henrik Pedersen write the application to ViNNMER together. This has been meet as the application is submitted.
