Strategic Innovation Program Drive Sweden |
Important results from the project
The project has created a forum for dialogue between industry, authorities and research on the regulation of automated driving. This has resulted in policy-relevant insights and input into Swedish and international legislation. The goals have been met and the project has strengthened collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Expected long term effects
The project´s results can be expected to contribute to the development of an appropriate regulatory framework for automated driving. This can ultimately promote innovation, road safety and sustainable mobility. Furthermore, the cooperation structure established between different parts of the ecosystem has potential to be long-term. The network can serve as a platform for continued dialogue, joint policy initiatives and strategic influence even after the end of the project.
Approach and implementation
The project has been implemented through quarterly roundtable discussions structured around four themes, research-based analyses to support the discussions, and monitoring of regulatory initiatives at international, EU and national levels. The discussions and analyses have been complemented by study visits, webinars and collaboration with external project and actors.
