Purpose and goal

The purpose of the planning project was to find an industrial company-partner interesting in development and further manufacture of near-to-eyes displays included a tunable switch-selectible liquid crystal microlens array that can be combined with a microdisplay incorporated into a lens of spectacles, as well as medical diagnostic technique based on such displays. Asian companies were mostly in focus. After establishing contacts, a research project VINNMER Academy Outgoing on near-to-eye and on-eye smart devices has been proposed.

Results and expected effects

A proposal for VINNMER Academy Outgoing grant on Near-to-eye and on-eye smart devices was developed and submitted. The project has to be done in cooperation between Linköping University and the Indian industrial company Nytronics Enterprices.

Approach and implementation

The industrial partner (Hytronics Enterprices) for the project application VINNMER Marie Curie Academy Outgoing was found after the trip to the conference on Soft materials in Hong Kong. Details on the project were discussed with the partner through e-mails, skype and phone meetings.
