NBMI - In vivo proof of concept

Important results from the project

Examine the effect of the anti oxidant NBMI on an intoxication to provide rational for clinical studies. Relevant effects of NBMI in the intoxication have been shown. Howver, the project has taken longer time than anticipated due to unforseen problems with the study model. Therefore, some studies that are supposed to provide rational for a clinical study are done after reporting.

Expected long term effects

NBMI decreased/eliminated toxicity in a mouse-study, as expected.

Approach and implementation

The study concept in cooperation with relevant researchers was good, based on initial in vitro and clinical study results. It was unfortunate that actions taken out of care for the animals, damaged the study model, which delayed the project. The researchers have now solved these issues.
