National Testbed Smart Production

Reference number
Coordinator Teknikföretagens Service i Sverige AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 500 000
Project duration May 2017 - September 2017
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The aim of the pre-project Testbed Smart Production was to select existing pilot environments, implement Production2030´s first calls for testbed projects and write the main application for the larger testbed project, with a finanscing from Vinnova at SEK 14.5 million . This is now completed. What remains is the assessment process and decision for the second round of testbed projects. An estimate is that an additional 5-7 new test bed projects will be added to the portfolio. This means that a nationel network of testbeds in production will consist of 2 pilots and 10-12 testbed projects.

Expected long term effects

Two existing test beds have been selected at Chalmers and KTH, as decided by the production steering committee: 1. SII-lab, Chalmers Lindholmen 2. Powertrain Manufactring LAb, KTH These two testbeds and their ongoing activities have contributed to input to Production2030.s forthcoming calls on testbed projects. Some examples are criteria, testbed infrastructure, etc. A responsible person to run the testbeds will be recruited in 2018.

Approach and implementation

In the context of "Samverkansprogrammet Uppkopplad Industri och Smarta Material", new types of testbeds for smart production have been requested. These need to be focused on smart and connected production and manufacturing systems, enabling increased digitalization within the production area. Production2030 has started this work in a preliminary project and will during 2017 - 2020 implement the main project to create a national network of test beds.
