Important results from the project
Some 15 municipalities have agreed on how to share food inspections and accounts payable as open data in the same way. The specifications have been published on GitHub open for all to use including examples of Dcat-ap. For accounts payable there are also some tools published to convert Excel files to the proposed specification. A report with recommendations on how such projects should be run in the future has been created.
Expected long term effects
Several participating municipalities are actively working on publishing open data according to the specifications. There are also discussions with vendors of it systems to get them to include support for the specifications so that enterprise systems can deliver open data in the recommended way with a limited effort from each municipality. The goal is to lower the threshold for publishing as much as possible. The report on how the project should be conducted will support future efforts to produce more spcifications.
Approach and implementation
The datasets have been selected in cooperation with the participating municipalities and specifications have been developed in close collaboration with colleagues from the participating municipalities. Their knowledge of the information has been very valuable. The technical projekt leader have created the specifications and have strived to make them useful for those who want to use them. We have had dialogues with suppliers of business systems. The work has been conducted in workshop form interspersed with the development of product specifications.
