Project duration | June 2015 - February 2017 |
Status | Completed |
Purpose and goal
The pilot line is now a R&D Resourse/"Demonstrator" where multiple application gives the best conditions to make R&D aiming to achieve the best formulations & combinations for barrierproperties. The pilot plant offers an opportunity to perform deep research related to the drying process. Important for understanding and implementation of the knowledge developed. Important R&D work is done for the coating technique (zero penetration with resilient metering element.), for best performance and good coverage in thin layers. The pilot plant is now, in focus for R&D related to barriers.
Expected results and effects
Based on R&D made within the project, 3 projects are or will be implemented before end of 2017, where recyclable Packaging Products are manufactured and made available for the market. The pilot plant is now fully boocked for 3 months, which was not the case before the Project. Papers related to the R&D work has been held at Aticelca - Italien, VAPA Millvision - Holland. Presentations are accepted for Papercon 2017 and PTS Coating Symposium 2017. Articles are printed in Carta & Cartier, Industria Della Carta and Wochenblatt für Papierfabrikation. There is a good base for further articles.
Planned approach and implementation
R&D was initially made for the coating technology. It was implemented in the pilot plant, where two units were installed, in order to allow multiple application in on passage. The coating technique was improved as knowledge development. The parties in the project performed R&D work for achievement of environmental friendly Products, which led to the implementation in mill operation as well as base for future decisions. R&D work was done related to barrier & drying, which is the background for the papers and articles presented and printed in Italy, Holland, Germany and USA:
