Call Advanced digitalization: System-changing initiatives, pre-study project 2025

Purpose and goal

We aim to identify how a collaborative project with a wide industrial representation can develop knowledge of applying generative AI agents to support future Swedish industrial leadership. The pre-study will bring together key stakeholders, describe the state of the art and best-practise for industrial applications using AI multiagent systems, map industrial needs and perceived obstacles – which will be used for planning joint efforts and a roadmap.

Expected effects and result

Description of industrial needs and challenges for introducing AI agents, and the state of the art among industry, and academic research. Developed a plan for a comming initiative. Long term effects include understanding on how systems of generative AI agents, with different expertise, can collaborate to solve complex tasks and how the AI agent systems are managed in different use cases, as well as understanding how to share AI agent systems in complex systems between different companies.

Planned approach and implementation

The pre-study will bring together key stakeholders, provide a common picture of the state of the art and best-practise for industrial applications using AI agents, and a mapping of needs and perceived obstacles – which will be used for planning joint efforts and a roadmap. The work includes surveys, telephone interviews, working meetings and workshops, as well as the development and summary of the state of the art, and planning for the coming project.
