Important results from the project

The project´s objective was to integrate Mujtaba Hassan into the Swedish job market and retain international expertise in Sweden. Through his work in organic chemistry and peptide synthesis via SPPS within Spike platform, Mujtaba contributed to the research and gained valuable experience. This has strengthened his future career opportunities, and he has now secured employment through a staffing agency. The projects goals can therefore be considered achieved.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to have long-term effects by strengthening the availability of expertise and innovation capacity in Sweden. By integrating international top-level competence, the development of advanced research is promoted. As a company, we had the opportunity to explore new ideas that we would not have pursued otherwise, which broadened our knowledge base. The results may also lead to new collaborations and future projects.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out according to plan with relevant activities that supported the objectives. The setup was well adapted and developed as expected. The timeline was largely followed, although some adjustments were needed. We initially had issues with the SPPS machine but managed to get it running again. However, 6 months was a short time to train a chemist without prior SPPS experience, an by the time he had mastered the technique, the project was nearly over. Collaboration worked well.
