Important results from the project
The project aimed to provide new opportunities to describe weather conditions by providing access to more complete meteorological information. The goals that involved the development and launch of interfaces for accessing weather forecast data and observations have been reached. New opportunities are given and the downloading services have already been used. However, it is too early to say anything about new applications based on these data.
Expected long term effects
The interfaces were developed and launched according to plan. The new API that provides access to forecast data based on the high resolution model has been given som attention in media. Users have already started to download the data.
Approach and implementation
For the most part, the implementation has been done according to plan. The cost of servers was slightly lower than planned. The cost of inhouse personnel were also slightly lower than planned. However, some hours of consulting service were bought, which were not in the project plan. This made the cost for services slightly higher than planned.
