Important results from the project
The project´s overall objective has been to combine knowledge regarding gender equality, working environment and economics and create a knowledge base for a possible future method that supports employers to distribute resources gender equal. An important objective for the project has been to bring together experts in different areas and arenas to find new solutions aimed at achieving a more gender equal work environment. The purpose and objective of the project have been fulfilled.
Expected long term effects
A knowledge compilation was written fort the pilot municipality. The compilation can be used in future work to create a method and offers knowledge for the municipality´s continued work. The project also generated a tool for calculating costs and possible profits for investing in a specific gender equality initiative, namely reducing the number of employees per manager. The tool can also be used as inspiration for making similar calculations in other areas.
Approach and implementation
During the project, knowledge exchange took place between civil society, researchers and the municipality, as well as between people with competence in gender equality, work environment / HR and finance in workshops and meetings. Based on the knowledge exchange and research and established methods in gender budgeting, the knowledge base and the calculation tool have been developed. The result has been distributed to key actors within the municipality. We will also continue the distribution through our courses in gender budgeting and the conference Forum Jämställställdhet.
