Purpose and goal
The goal of the project was to clinically evaluate MODUS, an innovative information environment for intensive care. MODUS consists of a digital desk for visualization of the patient´s vital signs in a round situation. A secondary objective of the project was to investigate the regulatory requirements on the product.
Results and expected effects
The study could identify specific efficiency improvements, mainly in the form of time savings, in the round process. CE classification of this type of product will depend on the specific application described by the manufacturer (Class - Class IIb).
Approach and implementation
The system was integrated in the IT infrastructure of Region Östergötland in 2015. A clinical study, at the intensive care unit at the University Hospital in Linköping, was conducted during two weeks in May 2015. Safety and legal requirements for the product have been analyzed.
