Call Impact Innovation: Implementation project for a reformed public sector in 2026

Purpose and goal

The project will test and develop a place-based approach to strengthen physical activity, participation and wellbeing among children and young people in Skellefteå. The municipality, region, and civil society organizations are collaborating. The aim is to create more equitable opportunities for them to be physically active in their daily lives by strengthening the environments, relationships that influence their opportunities for physical activity, participation, and wellbeing.

Expected effects and result

The project will improve opportunities for children and young people to be physically active, participate in community life, feel safe, and enhance their overall well-being. At the same time, new ways of coordinating, prioritizing, and learning across the municipality, the region, and civil society will be developed. The project will generate knowledge on place-based and preventive approaches that can be applied in other local contexts for children and young people in their everyday lives

Planned approach and implementation

The project will be carried out through place-based testing, joint portfolio governance, and systematic learning. Building on established partnerships and pilot initiatives within Mission to Move, the municipality, the region, RF-SISU Västerbotten, and other stakeholders will co-develop test environments for children and young people. Collaboration will take place at both operational and strategic levels to create sustainable approaches that can be integrated into regular practice.
