Important results from the project
The aim was to deepen collaborations and establish new forms of collaboration with Japanese universities. This has been realized by the fact that several participants will participate in the JSPS-funded conference "The Virtual Museum" in Uppsala in March 2022. In addition, the project led to the planning of a new collaborative area within MIRAI, namely "cultural heritage" which will be proposed as a new field within MIRAI.
Expected long term effects
Results and expected effects were an expanded collaboration between Swedish universities and Japanese universities and more specifically between Uppsala University and Kyushu University, which has been realized through a visit by Kyushu University representatives as early as December 2, 2022, as well as the participation of Vicerektor Toshiyuki Konos as Keynote speaker at the conference "The Virtual Museum" in Uppsala 20-21 March 2023. With this, new forms of collaboration, in the fields of virtual muses and visualizations of cultural heritage are expected.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out through visits to universities in Tokyo and the bilateral conference MIRAI R&I Week 2022 in Kyushu University, where meetings and seminars led to in-depth forms of cooperation within AI, virtual museums and visualizations of cultural heritage as well as the new field of cooperation field "cultural heritage".
