Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The goal was match-making between researchers and company representatives in Sweden and Japan to create contact, exchange experiences across different disciplines and sectors and identify areas of collaboration and project ideas. The event had 90 participants consisting of researchers and companies from both countries. Some of the participants who met for the first time at the event have joined forces in a project that applied for and was granted seed funds by Intsam through Vinnova.

Expected long term effects

The event contributed to new contacts between representatives from different disciplines and sectors in Sweden and Japan. Interdisciplinary exchange of experience and knowledge (especially between researchers) was stated by the participants as a key result. The event also led to the start of a new project on how digital technology can support elderly´s independence and self-care. The project was granted seed funding from Intsam through Vinnova in November 2021.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The event was divided into two parts: 1) a joint session with information on seed announcement (Intsam / Vinnova) and inspiring lecture and 2) discussion in small groups based on four designated themes. The organization and implementation of the event generally worked well. The participants were somewhat broad in their skills, which made matchmaking more difficult. A greater commitment from the corporate side and to link the discussion to concrete challenges at the companies would have been desirable
