Yes, the objective the project set was achieved. Another important results is that our neighboring countries are interested in this method as they have networked with us in various ways and heard about what we are doing.

Expected long term effects

The project will have long-term effects on the innovation ecosystems in Sweden´s regions. It will increase collaboration between actors and clarify what should be connected nationally or regionally. By systematically measuring innovation capacity, METRIC can identify strengths and weaknesses. A more strategic dialogue on innovation policy based on facts increases competitiveness globally. Not all innovation is based on uncertainty, some parts can be influenced.

Approach and implementation

The project was implemented with Västerbotten as the lead actor, which meant that the region was responsible for the project´s structure and coordination. The activities that were implemented were generally in line with the project´s objective, but challenges arose due to different regions having varying resources and capacities. Despite the effort to follow the schedule, the project was affected by external factors, such as financial constraints and organizational differences.
