Meeting Project - The traditional industry meets the creative & cultural industri

Purpose and goal

The project´s aim was to create an arena for encounters between basic industries and the creative and cultural sector with the youth as a link between them . This was a successful strategy when young people could pinpoint needs they could identify because one of their parents worked in the industry. Thus, given the creative and cultural industry the opportunity to try to create solutions to the problems. The goal of the project was that the participating youngsters would come up with new, innovative ideas and that the entrepreneur would try to take the ideas one step further.

Results and expected effects

The project gave the expected positive results. The only outcome that we did not desire was that all contractors did not have time to fulfill their applications for Pilot Project 2014. This is due to that the time of application coincides with the busiest time of year for several of these companies, the time limit set up by Vinnova was long enough. The participating entrepreneurs however, was more engaged in the project during the summer. Had the application period for the pilot project been slightly earlier, we believe we would have had more applicants for Pilotprojekt 2014.

Approach and implementation

We now have a well-functioning process and we hope the future will be able to implement similar projects even without the Vinnova funding. However, it is important to find a forum where it might fit. We believe that in the future we can use the knowledge generated from this project in our future Science Center, and thus obtain a natural meeting place for young people and contractors.
