Important results from the project
The project has achieved the goal of advancing mechanical recycling in Sweden in terms of market maturity, by investigating and being able to dismiss several of the most common objections to a mechanical recycling facility for textiles being profitable or environmentally viable in Sweden. Through analyzes of sustainability, the project has been able to point out critical factors for a recycled product to be environmentally beneficial.
Expected long term effects
The most important result from the project is a roadmap for Swedish process capacity for mechanical textile recycling, i.e. a basis for a pilot or demo facility for mechanical textile recycling. In this, success factors are pointed out for a Swedish facility, written for an actor who is interested in taking the step and establishing an activities.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The work steps that had been planned have worked well. Both sustainability and business potential have been challenging, but manageable. The results from these work packages form the framework of the project results. It has been more difficult with such a large group of business stakeholders, where the incentives to participate change as the project develops.
