Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to investigate the feasibility of a test bed in the recycling of plastics. The goal was to write an application for development of a test bed in the recycling of plastics. Both the goals and objectives were met during the pilot study.
Expected long term effects
The outcome of the project is that 11 companies, 3 R & D organisation and one professional organization are involved in the development of the test bed. Among the 11 companies is a very large spread, Volvo and Electrolux with tens of thousands of employees to SNAPP and OFK with fewer than 10 employees. The expected effects of a development project is increased cooperation between large and small companies in the plastics recycling sector.
Approach and implementation
The format for the pilot study was to identify stakeholders, formulate a draft for a test bed, presenting the draft at a workshop and then formulate a final project plan. During December and January potential stakeholders were identified and contacted. In February, a workshop was held for those who had given a positive response. In June and July the need for a test bed was discussed at various seminars and new stakeholders were identified. A definitive plan was presented in September and the application was submitted in October.
