Purpose and goal

The goals of the project are fulfilled and Ascilion has enhanced its network substantially through meetings and participation in tradeshows and workshops. Market segments where glucose monitoring is of vital importance have been carefully examined and grouped into business cases where conditions and the possibility of market entry have been analyzed. Regulatory demands have in addition been sorted out and a regulatory plan has been formulated in addition with a strengthened intellectual property portfolio through validation of existing patents and new patent applications.

Results and expected effects

The project has enabled Ascilion to create a map of the various market segments within glucose monitoring and create business opportunities around these segments for the product the company has under development. In conjunction with this work has the IP portfolio been expanded and several collaborations have been initiated with established companies within diabetes care. The work has positioned Ascilion well for further development of both the technology and business opportunities.

Approach and implementation

The project was managed in traditional project form divided into several work packages. The market analysis was done through a thorough mapping of the industry, meetings and dialog with relevant parties and participation in several conferences. The company has participated in several meetings, in Sweden, Europe, and the US, and has had multiple discussions with potential collaboration partners and customers.
