Important results from the project

The Project aim and goals have been met, to identify, formulate and include an SME in a project idea for an application where studies of shear spining are planned. FE analyses and practical tests will be performed to take steps towards future Manufacturing of components requested by GKN. An application will be prepared in collaboration between SMF Tryckta i Markaryd AB, RISE and GKN Aerospace Sweden. Mapping of companies with competence and rescourses within shear spinning has been initiated and continues through contact nationally with RISE SME, IUCs, Enterprise Europe Network (EEN).

Expected long term effects

The project has generated a project idea involving SME, RISE and GKN which will generate an application for funding for a research and development project. In the long run, such a project may result in SMEs being able to manufacture components requested by GKN.

Approach and implementation

The information material produced in combination with discussions between Tryckta i Markaryd, GKN and RISE has successfully resulted in interest from the SME to participate in research and development projects. Mapping of initiated companies will continue through RISE SMEs, IUCs and EEN. Responses from companies in this survey can take time, the project considers it worth waiting for responses from Swedish and European business stakeholders, where RISE will make a new summary in the spring of 2021.
