Important results from the project
MainlyAI´s solution is centered around a service that provides a platform for sharing machine-readable knowledge. One objective is to develop the provided solution into a platform where customers can exchange and trade with machine-readable knowledge. The aim of this project was to conduct a feasibility study of this objective from a commercial perspective. In that study, we focused on interviews with representatives from companies in the process industry with a focus on sustainability. We have also focused on the functionality of our technical platform such as IPR.
Expected long term effects
We have developed the basic functionality of the platform that supports the creation of machine-readable knowledge objects based on generic UN Hållbarhetsmålen as well as customer data and specific customer goals. The market analysis has shown the willingness to share data and knowledge with non-competing businesses. This is especially relevant for data and knowledge within sustainability-related insights that are generic and can be shared between companies. The effect indicates increased speed of improvements in companies´ climate footprint thanks to the reuse of knowledge.
Approach and implementation
The project consisted of three work packages: 1) market analysis where we conducted interviews with key people from relevant industries, 2) the feasibility study of our technical platform where we have built a prototype of our technical solution with associated API that was used to onboard data streams from the test bed, and 3) to create IPR, where we have described our idea and sent it to the KTH incubator for prior-art analysis. The implementation of the project went according to plan.
