Purpose and goal

The overall project objective was to contribute to SME companies and subcontractors´ competitiveness through better use of current research and other relevant knowledge in this particular competition driving and qualifying technologies. Sub-objectives: - Designed a seminar concept that in a special way meets SMEs and subcontractors needs - Established contact with a larger quantity of SME companies in three regions - To conduct two seminars on three different geographical locations - Designed a plan for continued cooperation seminar

Expected results and effects

25 SME companies and subcontractors have increased their knowledge in two areas of technology, machinability and machine tools, and thus knowledge to use in their everyday work. The seminar concept that has been developed can be used by other actors with an interest to bring research and other relevant knowledge. Increased knowledge of SME companies´ technology needs has provided a valuable basis for future planning of activities, such as research activities directed towards SMEs and recruitment.

Planned approach and implementation

2 seminar topics have been organized in three geographical locations in Sweden with the aim group of SME companies and subcontractors. The content has been defined by the project´s industrial reference group. 25 SMEs and 7 training providers participated with a total of 81 participants. The seminars have started with lunch and time have been allocated for networking with colleagues and discussion with seminar leaders. Seminar leaders have been people who are well established in the Swedish production technology research. The workshops were followed up by a positive evaluation.
