Reference number
Coordinator Linköpings universitet - Institutionen för systemteknik
Funding from Vinnova SEK 5 250 000
Project duration January 2015 - December 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim of LINK-SIC is to be an attractive and internationally competitive arena for industry-oriented research within sensor informatics and control. After phase III, we conclude that the designated aims have been achieved both in terms of quantitative indicators and other performance measures. The center has considerable importance for the industry partners and they have a strong commitment to link the R&D at the center to their innovation, product development and knowledge supply.

Expected results and effects

The center has operated according to the project plans, and operation has been monitored continuously using a set of KPI:s. From an academic perspective the research has resulted in a number of scientific publications, Master´s theses and PhD- and Licentiate degrees. The activities have also resulted in many results of value and importance for the industrial partners, such as improved models for diesel engines and inustrial robots and improved methods for estimation of models for ships and aircrafts.

Planned approach and implementation

LINK-SIC is divided into the application areas Aerial Vehicles, Marine Vessels, Industrial Robotics and Automotive Systems, respectively, connected to the activities of the participating companies. The core of the center is a set of PhD student projects defined where need of R&D is found in the products of the industrial partners and when new relevant enabling technologies or research results emerge. The projects are executed in close collaboration between the academic and industrial partners.
