Coordinator RISE LignoDemo AB - RISE LignoDemo AB, Stockholm
Funding from Vinnova SEK 300 000
Project duration September 2017 - February 2018
Status Completed

Important results from the project

he purpose and goal of the innovation competition is to find new commercially interesting products from sulphate (power) lignin and continue to support the development of products and processes. The market for different lignin-based products needs to be clarified and developed. We want to develop lignin-based alternatives to fossil-based plastics, preferably (but not limited to) solutions that help care and care activities to become more bio-based.

Expected long term effects

The project has resulted in an application for funding to complete the innovation competition. We expect a large number of contest contributions, not just from Sweden. Cooperation in the project group and the needs owners has been very good. We have different backgrounds, which are very inspiring and rewarding to achieve good results.

Approach and implementation

The competition will be announced globally through our networks, tools and channels. The test bed LignoCity will provide some support to the contestants as desired. We have set up so-called "shell requirements" that must be addressed if the contest contribution is to be accepted for further evaluation in two steps. First, according to a scientifically based evaluation methodology and then pitching before a jury. Awards will be awarded to several winners in different categories. The prices primarily want to help the winners further towards commercialization.
