Purpose and goal
The present project, which unites 2 partners each from Sweden and the USA, aims to prepare the public sector for large-scale implementation of automated vehicles in urban environments by carrying out: Inventory of existing commercial implementations of fleets with "robotaxis" in cities in the USA and China, and gathering of experiences to consider in the commercial implementation of robotaxis in Europe, with a special focus on Sweden.
Expected effects and result
Development of recommendations regarding critical factors to consider for the large-scale deployment of robotaxi services in Europe, with a focus on Sweden. The project will build a foundation for continued collaboration between the four Swedish and US partners, and be a stepping stone for a larger, deployment-oriented initiative in e.g. Horizon Europe.
Planned approach and implementation
The work will be carried out in five work packages (WP): WP 0 – Coordination and oversight of all project activities WP 1 – Stakeholder mapping and interviews in U.S. and China WP 2 – Literature reviews, media and data collection, analysis WP 3 – Workshops to acquire lessons learned & prepare dissemination Tentatively 2 workshops (one f2f, one online) each in the U.S. and Sweden Dissemination WP 4 – Synthesis & recommendations, final report
