Important results from the project
The goal with Konstpool is to create a website for open calls for artists, as well as to facilitate a tool for administrating a call, initially focusing on visual artists. This goal has been achieved and the site is gradually established as the information about the site is spread. There is plenty of interest for the service Konstpool provides and Konstpool is often invited to talk about the project at different art events. The main focas is to establish the site.
Expected long term effects
The site has become very user-friendly and already there is a demand for additional services. Artists verifies that they are applying to more open calls than before which improves their possibility to support themselves. Despite the very positive response it takes longer to establish the service than predicted. The prolonged timespan to build the site has forced Konstpool to lay off staff, all other costs has increased.
Approach and implementation
The site was thoroughly specified when the search for a programmer started. The complexion is significantly greater than web developer are used to and those comfortable with complexion are not used to the web. The Belgique company Tripal took on the task to build it. It would however been favorable to have commissioned the project in parts. As it came out neither Tripal nor Konstpool could end the collaboration without risk of legal consequences. Our current developer is contracted part by part.
