Project duration November 2014 - October 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to evaluate the projects and the business model that has built up within the framework of the BWR , Boras Waste Recovery since 2007. During the project, this model has been developed into what we now call Added Value Business. This model is based on the Triple Helix collaboration and that values such as economy, social issues , the environment , technology and knowledge along with leadership woven into every project from the beginning. This means that the BWR as a municipal company can act as consultant to a SME to add value to their business .

Expected results and effects

A new business concept Added Value Business is developed , a network is being built up , new methods of financing projects have been identified , it has been clarified that a municipality can act internationally. Potential projects have been identified where AVB can be linked to the Swedish technology suppliers. A need of the model have been identified both in emerging markets and among Swedish companies . During the project it has also been clarified the role of the BWR as a municipal companies , both internationally and in a triple helix cooperation.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been run by Jessica Magnusson, BWR in close collaboration with the other actors . To develop the model it was important to bring in an SMEs perspective on what adds value in their business since the assignment was to answer the question how local expertise can act as a boost for the export of Swedish environmental technology. Here Biogas Systems Nordic AB´s participation has been very important. The work has been managed through project meetings , but each of the partners have also worked individually with his part in the triple helix cooperation.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
