Important results from the project

The purpose is a deepened collaboration between RISE and Linköping University (LiU), which is intended to lead to more complete future project and development work within multifunctional composites. This has been fulfilled within the project.

Expected long term effects

During the project, composite laminates with sensors have been manufactured at LiU in collaboration with RISE. The sensors (strain and humidity) have been used to make demonstrators with good results. During the project, both LiU staff and students have participated to learn from RISE. In addition, mechanical and microstructural characterization has been carried out to teach the RISE employee. In addition, proposals for other research projects linked to this project have been discussed, e.g. the project has led to 2 new research applications being submitted.

Approach and implementation

In total, the project has run 2 student projects in the fall of 2022 and in the spring of 2023, 2 degree theses at MSc level and 1 at BSc level have been completed. This means that in total the project has been responsible for student projects with 16 students. In the student projects, 8 LiU teachers have participated and shared the expertise within the project. Demonstrators have been produced for strain and humidity measurements, respectively, and a presentation has been made at Compraser Labs, and each student project has been presented at LiU.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
