Important results from the project
The project achieved its goals of strengthening collaboration between Swedish and Brazilian partners, establishing a foundation for future research collaborations, and contributing to a shared understanding of technology assessment. An important insight was that existing methods complement each other but need to be integrated for more effective use. The project also laid the groundwork for a follow-up proposal and has already influenced Saab´s internal processes for technology roadmaps.
Expected long term effects
To provide a comprehensive assessment of the impact of future technologies in aerospace, develop methods for technology assessment in early design, enable efficient technology management and prioritization for technology roadmaps, and investigate technology readiness and development costs. This will be further develop within the framework of next application, a result of this project. Parts of this work have already begun as Saab continues to develop new methodologies for technology roadmaps.
Approach and implementation
The project began with a workshop for the Swedish partners, which later transitioned into regular online meetings every three weeks, with participation from the Brazilian partners. A workshop was held in Brazil with representatives from all partners. A corresponding workshop was planned in Sweden with the Brazilian partners but could not be carried out due to insufficient funding in Brazil.
