Purpose and goal

K2 CaliConnect aims to integrate autonomous vehicles with public transport through a transatlantic collaboration between Sweden and California. Through methods such as standardized data exchange, data-driven Curb Side Management and AI-based control, the project will develop a framework that helps Swedish RKMs to proactively work with robotaxi fleets towards reduced congestion, reduced emissions and increased shared travel – and contribute to positioning Sweden in global policy development.

Expected effects and result

The project will deliver a documented framework for AV–public transport integration, a collaboration with OMF and DRIVE AI, a shared scenario library, and a GAP analysis and insight report for the Swedish context. The effect will be that Swedish RKMs move towards more proactive demand-setters with a common language for steering autonomous mobility towards societal benefit – and that Sweden strengthens its role as an international link between the Nordic countries and Silicon Valley.

Planned approach and implementation

The project runs for 12 months (June 2026–July 2027) and is organized into five work packages according to a "Crawl–Walk–Run" logic: establishment of scope and scenario library, data standard and interoperability, digital policy and GAP analysis, and exchange and anchoring. Zeto coordinates the work with ongoing digital meetings and two physical work trips – one in California and one in Sweden.
