Purpose and goal

The project aims to develop a scrutinized IP strategy that becomes an important tool for the company HPViCo AB´s business development. The target is considered to be met and has been reached by meeting four milestones: review of business focus, control of technology assets, review and suggestions to patent strategy, and an analysis and clarification on the conditions for the company to build a brand for product and company names.

Expected results and effects

The project has resulted in a proposal for a number of actions that give the fundament to an IP strategy linked to the company HPViCo AB´s business development. The proposed measures pronounce the importance to formalize informal agreements and relations. The project has resulted in a proposal for internal process for the management of technology development and its potential patentability. The analysis of potential brands has identified a foundation on which the company can continue building the brand (s).

Planned approach and implementation

The company´s 4 founders and main owners have participated in workshops and shared the information necessary for the analyses made by the IP-consultant. The project has been conducted at 3 specific workshops; At start-up, a patent-specific workshop and a final concluding presentation. In addition, specific measures have been implemented through and discussion of "intellectual assets", discussion and advice on countries for patent application based on the perspective costs in relation to the need for patent protection and examination of opportunities to trademark protection.
