Purpose and goal

The metals research institute Swerim AB®, has created an Intellectual Property Rights strategy, abbreviated IP-Strategy, to take advantage of development ability, capture innovations, protect our innovations and make it clear to employees, our members and partners how we work and present ourselves to IP. It includes various protections such as copyright, designs, trademarks and patents, but also business secrets.

Expected results and effects

The development of an IP Strategy, includes new routines, instructions contained in the operating system for employees on the intangible assets how they are to be protected. Training of employees last quarter on the new IP strategy, how to use it with new routines, instructions. The project will end with a handover meeting to the Business Council, which will assume responsibility for protecting, monitoring, evaluating and deciding on Swerim´s intangible assets in accordance with the IP strategy. A functioning IP strategy strengthens Swerim´s business in the short and long term.

Planned approach and implementation

Checked all intangible IP assets, evaluated and compiled intangible assets, the development of the IP strategy. During the project we have developed new routines, instructions that are in the operating system. Training of employees on the new IP strategy, its content, routines and instructions on the intangible assets and how to protect them during November and December. The project group has been supported in the implementation of AWA Sweden AB, through an IP check from Vinnova. Thanks!
