Call Impact Innovation: Preparatory project for a reformed public sector in 2026

Purpose and goal

The project aims to develop a collaborative residential care model for children aged 9–12 with complex social and psychiatric needs. Through cooperation between the City of Gothenburg, Västra Götaland Region, child psychiatry and habilitation services, the project will identify barriers that prevent coordinated and individualized care. The outcome will form the strategic and operational foundation for future HVB services in public management.

Expected effects and result

The project will develop a governance and collaboration model that strengthens crosssector cooperation and creates more integrated, child-centered and knowledge-based care. Special focus will be placed on children’s participation, interdisciplinary practice and sustainable collaboration. The outcome will form the strategic and operational foundation for future HVB services in public management and for a later implementation and research phase beginning in 2027.

Planned approach and implementation

The project will be carried out through close collaboration between social services, healthcare providers, and other relevant stakeholders. Through mapping, interviews, workshops, and joint analysis, a collaborative residential care model for children with complex needs will be developed. The project will identify prerequisites, roles and responsibilities, collaboration structures, and development needs, while producing a foundation for establishment and implementation in 2027.
