Coordinator ÖSTERGÖTLANDS LÄNS LANDSTING - Medicinsk Teknik Östergötland
Funding from Vinnova SEK 249 024
Project duration October 2013 - August 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The competition has culminated in one participating team whom will do their final presentation October 2. Several organizations have expressed interest to participate in future development of the product. The winning team will be able to show their entry at the regions innovation week (vecka45.se).

Results and expected effects

The participation team has declared their will to contribute to the development of the final product after the contest. Due to that it is only one participating team we haven´t been able to find other solutions that would create real competition or synergy effects. Except for the participating team, several organizations have expressed interest to participate in similar collaboration with the healthcare so the interest is definitely higher now. The county council has learned a lot from the challenges regarding innovation competitions which we will bring forward to future engagement.

Approach and implementation

At the beginning we had a bigger ambition for the contest that included several och steps to find the winning concept. The idea was that the last step would be very close to a finished product. Since it took much longer time to find contestant than expected we had to lower our ambition and the contest were done in two steps where the last step only included a simple demo. We would have needed much more resources for PR to be able to reach more contestants. The participating team is however very satisfied with the collaboration and the opportunity for improving their competence within the company.
