Coordinator LU HOLDING AB - LU Innovation
Funding from Vinnova SEK 7 400 000
Project duration December 2015 - December 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

With the support of the VFT, the Innovation Offices, will work for the utilization of innovative ideas from the higher education institutions. Through verification activities, the society will benefit from the ideas, they will generate growth and contribute to increased Swedish competitiveness. With this support, 49 VFT decisions have been taken in 2017. Over time, VFT has played an important role in the development of these ideas, and contributes to LU Holding´s current portfolio of 51 companies, as well as a number of successful finishes.

Expected results and effects

We intend to broaden our uptake, addressing ideas originating from all faculties in the university (social sciencies and humanities). Similarly, we have the ambition to be able to work more efficiently and to work actively with more cases. VFT also plays an important role in a cultural change, where innovation and utilization play an important role at the university.

Planned approach and implementation

When it comes to the implementation of VFT funding, we have weekly meetings, where business developers present their VFT applications. The projects are presented, highlighting planned activities, and what they intend to verify with these, and the plan ahead. A group of business developers and IP strategists has the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the applications. Final decision is made by the head of the Innovation Office.
