Purpose and goal
The intention for the ´48H Race to Innovation gathering´ on 4-6 November was to build and prepare for a regional innovation platform for SME businesses in the industrial Gnosjoregion. 53 participants with different knowledge and experience came to a shared view of how a joint R&D center in collaboration would generate innovations and strengthen competitiveness and regional growth. The outcome will become procedures for project practices and feasibility. The unique process was appreciated by everyone who now also are ambassadors for the project.
Results and expected effects
All involved in the race were impressed about the broad mix of competences and interaction in the concentrated working process, which was creative, energetic and productive. A model in process to implement. The powerful participants creates a valuable first cluster networking for the innovation platform and become resources for building a successful format and for project feasibility. A concept was created to make venture capital financing available for SME:s. Trade marks imposed and protected. Domain and website open Activity plan. Result presented for 80 visitors and media.
Approach and implementation
In our 48H Race to Innovation, 53 participants were organized in 3 groups - 2 creative groups lead by process leaders and designers. A backoffice with experts in fields such as business, funding, law, politics were answering questions with facts and research. The working model is based on Professor Kaj Mickos methods for how to produce innovations in a more cost effective, time efficient way although the task for our project was to build an innovation platform for producing innovations in collaboration in the industrial Gnosjöregionen in Småland, Sweden.
