Important results from the project

The goal of the project was achieved to the extent that Alvenius was able to make a decision on whether or not we should establish business in Canada. There seemed to be an interest in our piping system and potential customers were optimistic about our unique solution, especially in backfilling operations. We also met with stakeholders in the mining segment who were interested in getting more information about our piping system solutions which was one of our goals from the onset.

Expected long term effects

The Canadian market offers great opportunities for Swedish innovations in the mining segment. At the same time, there are challenges for Alvenius due to physical distance. Alvenius needs to understand the market, establish contacts with customers and partners and find out what challenges there are to exporting to or establishing ourselves in Canada. Vinnova´s support provided opportunities for Alvenius to create the basis for an adequate establishment strategy for Canada with reduced risk.
