Important results from the project
The purpose and goal of the project were for CFS with the help of RISE, to develop more efficient and better methods for developing more sustainable and high-performance lightweight products in composite materials. With a focus on C6 Boards´ next generation of kitesurfing boards.
Expected long term effects
The result of the project has given CFS increased knowledge and tools for a better process in the development and design of products in composite materials. For CFS, the project has also involved networking with resources at RISE, which has led to planning a further in-depth project with RISE and relevant material suppliers.
Approach and implementation
Initially, the necessary resources for the project were identified at RISE. The appointed project group later had a start-up meeting to plan and discuss the starting point of current products and their development potential. Subsequently, suitable test and analysis methods for composite laminates were investigated. Calculation models were developed to facilitate the evaluation and comparison of material properties. Analysis: The project was carried out in accordance with the agreed arrangement between CFS and RISE with the desired result.
