Important results from the project

The purpose of the project has been to contribute to an increased dissemination of knowledge and discussion about bio-based plastics by communicating facts and good examples where successful transfer to a functional bio-based alternative has been made. The goal has been to remove obstacles for a transition to bio-based plastics in cases where they constitute a good alternative to today´s fossil-based plastic materials.

Expected long term effects

The project has collected good examples of successful conversion to bio-based alternatives which have been presented as inspiration for other stakeholders at our digital events. We have also actively disseminated knowledge about bio-based plastics and other concepts around plastics in order to increase the level of knowledge among interested parties. Digital forums have enabled us to reach a larger audience and thus a wider distribution of the project´s results.

Approach and implementation

The project work has been divided into 5 different work packages, each with its own purpose and goals. The work has been conducted partly through contact with stakeholders and partly through monitoring of various national and international sources. Collected experiences and knowledge have subsequently been presented at digital events that either have been arranged by the project or where the project has been a participant. The final report and a brochure are available on the project´s website.
