Coordinator Invisense AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 500 000
Project duration November 2014 - August 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The objective of the project was to develop a humidity sensor label that has a stable performance and can be produced in large volumes. The goal was also to test and verify the humidity sensor labels at SP and also carry out pilot installations. However, it was challenging to obtain a stable humidity sensor label and the project put most of it´s technical focus to develop a working label that can be produced in high volume since that is the foundation of the whole affair. The project has succeeded in developing such a label, and the company now plans to go ahead with testing and pilot installations.

Expected results and effects

The result of this project is that the company Invisense now has developed a humidity sensor label that can be produced with an improved production compared to when the project started. The humidity sensor label that has emerged thanks to Vinnova funding is a stable label that can be produced with less printing steps and better repeatability than previously. The result of the project is that entrepreneurs now have a humidity sensor label in Invisense that they trust and will go to market with and a business model that has a strong influence from the customer analysis made in this project.

Planned approach and implementation

Invisense has chosen to outsource the technical development of the humidity sensor label to Acreo Swedish ICT. The Entrepreneurs in Invisense has conducted an in-depth analysis of customer needs. Acreo has conducted the development of the humidity sensor tag by testing 4 different ways of designing and manufacturing the humidity sensor with electrolyte sensor materials and two different ways of manufacturing the humidity sensor without electrolyte as the sensor material. All development have been conducted in stages with careful evaluation of each step before going starting a new.
