Important results from the project
The goals set from the beginning have been largely met. A method for calibrating antenna efficiency (AE) in a reverberation chamber (RC) has been developed, with the analysis of how different parts affect. This method is not dependent on a known reference antenna. The method is intended as the basis for a calibration service for AE, which is almost complete. This is an important part of the available calibration services that match how developments in EMC & radio testing are taking place.
Expected long term effects
The most important long-term impact of the project is the antenna efficiency calibration service which is almost complete. Today, research and development of both EMC & radio testing is taking place for more use of reverberation chambers (RC), where known antenna efficiency is necessary. This calibration service is intended to provide opportunities for continued research/development in the area.
Approach and implementation
The project has been divided into several smaller work packages (WP). This has been proven efficient due to the fact that it has been possible to make smaller objectives that are easier to overview, without losing overall objectives. The original plan did also have a preliminary time schedule when the different WP’s were to be finished. In hindsight it was seen that some WP’s were rearranged in time in order not to lose any momentum in the project. The cause for this rearrangement was external.
