Important results from the project
Purpose: to improve loading and resource efficiency in Sub level caving (SLC) mines. Goal: to implement the newly developed dynamic loading control model in Giron (LKABS mine planning and equipment software) and in WOLIS (LKABs wireless online loading and information system) on selected LHDs. The developed dynamic loading control model - improves resource efficiency by reduced dilution and ore loss on a ring-by-ring basis - limits the variations of iron content in hoisted ore - assists the operators in making more informed decisions regarding the loading process.
Expected long term effects
The results from the project will facilitate a full-scale implementation of the new dynamic loading control system with graphical user interface on all LHD machines in LKABs underground mines.
Approach and implementation
The project was based on three work packages; WP-1, which includes project coordination and administration; WP-2, which focuses on model implementation in Giron, and WP-3, which focuses on model implementation in WOLIS on selected LHD machines.
