Improved performance for electrochromic foils
Reference number | |
Coordinator | ChromoGenics AB |
Funding from Vinnova | SEK 1 186 000 |
Project duration | June 2018 - December 2019 |
Status | Completed |
Purpose and goal
The project had two objective: 1) Presentation of demo prototype with color neutral bright position and high transmittance (>75%) laminated between two glass panels 2) Presentation of test data demonstrating 20 years of sustainability Both goals have been achieved with good results which we will continue to build on in our product development.
Expected results and effects
We are very happy and pleased with the results of the project where we have proven that the product is durable and exhibits better optical performance than any other electrochromic product on the market. In addition to positive technical results, the project has generated international collaboration. A collaboration that will continue in a granted EU project where the results of this Vinnova project will be further developed and hopefully result in a new product with improved optical performance.
Planned approach and implementation
The project was divided into six work packages: AP 1 Manufacturing analysis PB-slurry AP 2 Dynamic manufacturing recipe for PB electrodes AP 3 Design of electrolyte for flexible WO3 / PB design AP 4 Optimization WO3/PB Whole Cells AP 5 Long-term Stability AP 6 Compilative Analysis Project implementation followed the plan well except that AP3 and AP4 took longer time than first expected due to unexpected initial difficulties when the electrodes of PB and WO3 were combined.
