Important results from the project

Objective of the project has been to find out what needs to be in place so that a patient support solution that has shown good results in research can be implemented in regular care. By developing a list of security requirements and ensuring that the research is also conducted on a medically certified platform that meets storage and security requirements, we are prepared for a possible introduction after good research results. No platform change is needed in order to be able to implement the research results in ordinary care. A checklist for implementation projects has been developed.

Expected long term effects

By listing requirements at an early stage for an upcoming procurement, we can be prepared. We await results from the ongoing clinical study before making a decision regarding the patient support that has been evaluated. Contacts within Capio and other implementation projects have provided lessons learned, price model and new contacts for future collaboration. Patients´ interest in gaining access to evidence-based digital patient support during treatment is high and this has a potential to create additional ways to reach patients with customized information and relevant tools.

Approach and implementation

The set-up to follow an ongoing clinical study had challenges. Early in the project, a list of requirements was identified and that a platform change needed to be implemented, and the study was thus delayed. This also affected our implementation project in that the healthcare staff did not work with the solution for long, and that no results from the study had yet arrived. Thus, we have therefore looked at other project, both within and outside Capio. List of requirements, price and contract model and a checklist for implementation based on lessons learned have been produced.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
